I really like the idea of a whistling weather vane.

My roses can’t get over watered. I have oddly free draining soil. Some years ago I left a hose on for three days, by mistake, and it didn’t create so much as a puddle. My (established) roses would love three times the water they get. The rain chain rose is slightly under the eaves of a shed, so gets less rain than the roses even though it’s the largest of the lot.

Also the shed for the rain chain is not huge. So, no, I would not be worried.

I'd forgotten about rain chains! I really like them, though I've never had any.
Could you keep them in place with some pretty brackets on the shed? I'm thinking if you had some angled down at about 45⁰ or so, any wet would just roll straight onto the chains.

I did think about chain angles. It's all about physics and surface tension. I don't know how it would work with that site, but I will explore.

I never thought about the actual chain angles either! 😄 But now you mention it, it does seem to ring a bell somewhere in the cobwebby recesses of what I used to call my memory.

Nice! The pics you posted look good, best of luck.
