Too early for a light scarify??

After just a day of rain last week the grass is starting to shoot and the lawn is bouncing back to life.  There's no more rain forecast here in Norfolk for another 10 days according to BBC weather. It's been well trampled over the summer and the thatch is thick and the soil compacted (I've not been able to get the fork into it at all). Is it too early to give it a very light scarify (with the lawn rake) to give the new growth a chance?
Thanks :-)

    it's only 9am, I'd say it's too early.
Have a nice cuppa and do it later.  ;)

It’s fine to do a light scarify I would think there is plenty of dead stuff that needs clearing .
  • Hostafan - grotty gardening gear - the clothes that visitors seem to know I’m wearing so decide to surprise me with a Sunday visit. Thanks bcpathone - I’ll get onto it
