Black Catterpillars

My Pelargonium leaves have been completely eaten It has never happened before in the many years of growing them thought they were pest free as butterflies and insects usually give them a wide birth. The culprits are big black caterpillars so I cant blame the cabbage white Anybody know what they are please.

Looking at the markings, they could be one of the Underwing Moth caterpillars, but not sure which one if at all.

Thanks Sheps yes I think you are right just had a look at moths and the caterpillar markings match the Large Yellow Underwing Pesky things.
