@a1154 Some people give a little tiny bit of water until there is strong growth. But yes, the time after potting up successfully overwintered tubers is dangerous. It's easy for them to rot off in that time. The juicy tubers of plants are essentially water reservoirs, so we shouldn't have to worry about them drying out when first potted up.
The one in the ground no I didn't, just let nature do the thing. The ones that I kept in pots and the ones that I overwintered in dry compost, yes I watered them in the spring, sparingly. A few did just rot and never sent up new shoots. Most were fine though. After they showed decent new growth I planted them out in the ground. At that point I did notice that some of the tubers also rotted off. I just cut those off and planted the rest which seemed OK.
