Chrysanthemum Help Please :)

Mr BBMr BB Posts: 21
Hi everyone,

I've inherited these plants and I have to admit i know very little. Is each stalk a plant or does each plant shoot up multiple stalks? Many of them disappear under the soil and appear unconnected.

Anything i need to do right now to help them? I will water them of course and give some tom feed. Is that ok?

They appear to have been pinched out at somepoint this year also.

Any advice very welcome. I hate the thought of plants not having what they need.

Thanks

xx

All one plant with multiple stalks, like most herbaceous perennials, but as you've noticed they're easy to split. Mine is in the ground and has spread over the years to about 2 to 2.5 feet in diameter. I'm going to need to get rid of some of it because it's taking up too much space now. I think yours need bigger pots, or to be planted in the ground. Those look like the nursery pots that they're sold in, not big enough to keep them in.

You can't tell what sort they are at that stage but they need fresh compost and bigger pots or to go into the ground if they are hardy. I doubt you will get flowers this year but they should be fine next.
