Canna lilies

Hi all 
My canna lilies grown in a pot look a little pot bound how do I split them up and when do I do this

    You usually do this in early Spring. Chunks just come apart easily in my experience but others may give better advice if I bump this up.

    Correct @Posy they should be divided in Spring. We normally wait until all chance of frosts have passed before doing so. Ours are in pots, and are kept in the greenhouse (unheated) over Winter. We water very sparingly during Winter, perhaps a little bit once or twice a month, just to stop the tubers from drying out.

    We increase watering around Mar/Apr, and divide around May. We also start a weekly liquid feed from May onwards, but mainly because they are in pots.
