This plant appeared in very dry part of the garden in last fortnight.  I don't remember planting anything in last five years. Haven't got a clue what it is. Is it weed?  Whatever it may be, it is drought resistant for sure. It is about 6-7 inches tall, the biggest leaf is about 4 inches long.  Stem is green and got brown/black spots on it. Thank you in advance.

    Looks similar to a voodoo lily. I've never grown one but there is at least one that uk hardy.

    The stem looks like Dracunculus vulgaris - but I've never grown it either.
    Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    @nutcutlet grows some aroids ... I wonder if she's about today ...?

    Sauromatum venosum. The flower comes before the leaves when it is old enough. The flies love it!
  • While the aroids and arisaemas aren't to many tastes in the garden they do provide great stems and flowers and the leaves are also quite a sculpture. We grow quite a few and are often reminded that they are in flower by the horrible smell. Doesn't last long though.

    First of all Thank you for identifying it. I am still wondering how come it ending up growing there. Now I  will let it grow and see what happens. I do not know how it  going to survive in winter being tropical plant. Not sure how neighbours will react to the smell when it flower. Hope not to offend them. I will try to post updates.
