Insect ID, please?

Can anyone identify this little creature, please? 
I found it, dead, on the bedroom carpet today. It measures 2.5cm overall.

    Some type of parasitic wasp is my guess

    It does look like one of the ichneumon wasps in the above link.

    Fascinating little creatures … the gardeners friend … their prey includes sawfly larvae 👍

    As @Fire says … it’s all part of the circle of life … everything has its role in the ecosystem… when we interfere and encourage the ones we like and try to get rid of the ones we don’t, it’s then that we destroy the balance and cause problems.
