Another question sorry Loch Ness blackberry

I’m worried it may have died. It got completely frazzled in the high temps and only 1 new runner had come up and this isn’t looking too good either. I’ve watered and mulched it heavily. Do you think it’ll be ok? 🙏🏻

    Probably.
I have a Waldo and that also got rather frazzled and about the last 1Kg berries got frazzled on the stems. They all dried and shrivelled on the really hot day.
But after all, they're just cultivated brambles so they won't die easily.
You may not get much next year, but with a bit of luck it should be ok.

Plenty of water and a mulch is the best you can do, so just keep the watering up for the time being

You need to cut off the fruiting stalks anyway,   They don’t fruit on those next year,  it’s the new shoots you need to look after now.

Hi @Lyn Thankyou yes I have already cut those away. That shrivelled one in the photo was the fresh runner that I tied in last month 🥺

I’m sure it will make more in the Spring.
