Mushroom/toadstools in compost?

We have had several large unidentified mushrooms/toadstools growing in the raised beds in the polytunnel. Is it okay to put them on the compost or will this cause problems later?
Any thoughts welcome, please. 🙂

    Ideal for the compost,  no problems.

    Agree with @lyn ... fungi contribute to the breaking down of organic matter ... just what a compost heap needs  :D

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
