Peanuts??

I'm guessing this is a self-seeded peanut courtesy of our squirrels?

Ok to grow them in a planted bed/container?

Edible?

    Yes and yes
I grew some when I was a kid in a greenhouse.
I think the nuts were rather small - good fun tho :)
    To roast them - 180c / 160c Fan for about 20 mins

  • Ok, great.

No greenhouse here and i guess they only sprouted outdoors because of the high temperatures ?

I doubt it will survive Autumn/Winter

No it won't survive winter, but it was interesting too watch them grow.
Just the end result was a bit disappointing

  • I did this as a kid as well, all part of growing up with parent gardeners. I was amazed it grew!

They were one of the main weeds in the small but extremely fertile garden at our old house. Someone must have been feeding the squirrels.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
