Bargain Lawn Fertilizer?

Hello

I usually fertilise my lawn with Safelawn which works well, but I have a large lawn so it works out quite pricey. Can anyone recommend a cheap fertilser for lawns, I hear some gardeners just use blood, fish & bone?

Thanks

I started using blood fish and bone on my lawn after reading an article by Alan Titchmarsh in GW magazine. You could also use Growmore, but, for both of these, halve the rate you would use on flower beds and ensure it’s well washed in. I wouldn’t use either of these now though as we are approaching autumn.  I’ve used Evergreen’s autumn feed in the past and it seems to work well.
    Wirral. Sandy, free draining soil.

  • Thanks for your feedback, I'll look for some Evergreen autumn feed

@robin 435 I only have a small lawn but I have bought on line with a company called Lawnsmith. Not sure how it compares price wise but worth a look.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
