Advice on clearing wild patch of Oxeye Daisies and wild meadow grasses

    Oh yes I agree how I loved playing amongst the long grass and flowers and picking the daisies to put in a jam jar to surprise mum when she came in from work .Do keep an area of wildness and just mow a football area .

    Just mow it. It will become a normal green grassed lawn if mowed. There will be little rosettes of wildflowers amongst the turf but it won't spoil the look and usability of the lawn. If you like you can let it regrow into meadow and then cut once the flowers go to seed. It will revert to lawn quickly.
    "What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbour". 
  • I'd be tempted to invite the children to draw up a network of paths to be mown through the wildflower meadow...
