Grass patches

Evening everyone
Can anybody help with abit of a query , my rear lawn seems to have some crazy patches dotted around it , it seems to be highlighted more when it’s damp early morning or after watering , the pics don’t really do the patches justice but they range in shape from rectangular to square and every5hin* in between 😂 , it’s very strange , the grass almost looks like it has lighter coloured blades .?
Any ideas

Thanks in advance

It could be a response to something below the surface or difference in soil type?
    Is it a new lawn?

Maybe a different variety of grass? Possibly a broad-leaved "weed" grass like Yorkshire fog.

Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
  • Hi .
No it’s not new grass . I wondered if it was something under the ground that was causing it .
  • If you have managed to eliminate any obvious cause, the only way forward would be to lift the turf from a patch and see if anything strikes you ( not literally of course  ;) as to the possible cause.
There are several posters here who know about grass so hopefully you will soon get some ideas :)
