Chinese money plant

I hope this is the right bit to post of not sorry! I was gifted this Chinese money plant and I'm at the end of my wits with it. Every morning waking up to find a trail of dead flies on my window cill, I made the spray to stop them following the online instructions (oil and washing up liquid) bit it's hasn't help. I'm almost ready to throw it out as it's not a pleasant site in my kitchen (only place it can go) so if anyone can help it would be much appreciated thanks in advance.

    Fungus gnats. With a plant like this I'd just wash all the soil off and repot into fresh stuff. They're hardy enough plants to lose a bit of root. Otherwise you can keep the top of the soil dry and water sparingly from underneath for a while. Hoover up any adult flies as soon as you see them and the outbreak will soon die down.
    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    I've found the yellow sticky fly patches work well on fungus gnats.
