@magant11 I think the one thing that I always think of with Heucheras in pots is the risk of vine weevil. That is not to say don't just that you will need to be aware.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
I used to grow a lot in pots, just any cheap MPC, nothing fancy, plenty of water in the summer months, a decent sized pot, yes, watch out for the evil weevil, out of direct sunlight, and raise the pot in winter, so they don't get waterlogged.
We lost all of ours in pots, to Weevil. Would only grow them in the ground now. Take some cuttings and keep those in the ground if you can, that way you will have some backup plants, if you lose the ones in pots.
I grow quite a few in pots, and only use soil for them. Many will practically grow in water - I have one in the pond shallows. A thick layer of grit on top seems to be very helpful in preventing vine weevil laying eggs.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I do have plenty of them @punkdoc , as the foliage on many shrubs will testify, and have lost a few plants [heucheras] to them, but I've not lost any for several years. It was only potted ones that I lost, the ones in the ground have always been fine. I think it was @TheGreenMan who mentioned the grit, and that he'd had fewer problems since doing that.
