Cactus black on the tip

Hi, I transported my cactus in the car the other day and the top part of it is ever slightly bashed/torn. Part of it has gone black. What should I do?

You could slice the top off neatly and leave to callous over for a few weeks , or just allow the wound to heal naturally .
Either way no new growth will show before next Spring , and it should develop into a multi-branched specimen .
PS .....it's a Euphorbia , not a cactus

Thanks for the response. I think I’ll just leave. I was concerned it would rot or something.
