Any saving my poor monkey puzzle tree?

Hello all,

My poor Monkey Puzzle tree is turning brown and i'm concerned it is dead. Is there anything I can do to resurrect it? I received this as a gift nearly 2 years ago and it's been happy as larry at the back of my garden. I think the awful droughts have taken their toll though - i've started watering it everyday. Any advice would be hugely appreciated!

The growing point is still green, so there's hope!  These trees can get really large so yours will not be happy longer term in close proximity to the fence and other plants.

First of all, I'd clear the area around your plant of any weeds, top the surface with some garden compost and water deeply at root level - I normally count to about 30
to do this!  Do this regularly whenever the top two cm of soil/compost feel dry.

When the temperatures return to normal, try to find a more suitable location for your plant and move it carefully, getting as much of the root ball as you can.

I agree- clear everything around it first. There's really too many plants there anyway to give it enough room. As @Plantminded says, it's probably better to move it in autumn, and give it the room it needs. They become huge trees if given the right care.
Watering every day is also a bad idea - a good bucketful at least, poured slowly so that it sinks in, and do that every couple of days until you get proper, regular rainfall. That's what they really need to do well, and decent, moisture retentive soil.
In dry areas, they'll always struggle, so you may need to re consider having it at all, if you're in one of those dry parts of the country.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
