@sanitadevit1_k-QGIRH I agree we really need some decent rain before moving any plants. When you are out and about I would just take a look around at how big one laurel plant can get. They can be cut back with secateurs but from every cut they produce two more shoots. Best take a look at the work you may face in a few years time before you plant to be sure.
That’s a very good point @GardenerSuze, they can get really out of control if not maintained properly.

I agree .They can be a real pain .They get enormous if you turn your back on them for any length of time ,I can still see my old mum in my minds eye struggling with the laurel hedge we inherited.Every time she and Pops cut it back she would say ,’ whoever thought this laurel was a good idea wants shooting’ .Pops tried to take it out but nearly killed himself in the process .My advice ,for what it’s worth ,think very very carefully before you plant it anywhere .

This is what they can turn into, both on the right & beyond the arch. They're actually bigger than that now and I need to get on top of them soon, although it suits us to have them fairly large.

    Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border

I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful

  • They look amazing! I am very embarrassed of my attempt now. 😬😉. I shall wait for the weather to settle and have another go at growing something in my planter. Thank you

You’re more than welcome. Not saying don’t grow one ,just saying you need to keep a careful watch on it .Good luck in whatever you do.
