Propagate

I can't remember what this tree is but I love it and was wondering if it's possible to propagate from cuttings etc?

Thanks.

Need a better picture. What is the foliage like - looks like some sort of Acer?

Picture of whole tree, close up of foliage andclose up of bark please.

If it is indeed an acer your best hopes of propagation are by seed or grafting.

Sycamore is a form of acer https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/269/i-acer-pseudoplatanus-i/details but I think the bark is wrong.

It looks very much like a London Plane tree but the picture does not convey enough detail to be absolutely sure.

Take lots of pictures (your smartphone or digital camera can do this!) and select the best ones to upload. Include an establishing shot that shows the whole tree, close-ups of the leaf shape and flowers or seed pods if there are any.

In any case, propagation by air-layering would be my recommendation.

With cuttings, you would need to start with up to pencil-thick twigs. However, with air-layering it is possible to make a really thick branch (3inch+ diameter) root so that you end up with almost an instant big tree.
