Rat problem

Strangely enough, just as the rain started yesterday evening, a rat scurried across my patio and dived into the lavender.  Ah - back to the drawing board.  So much food around in the veggie garden.  I suppose you just have to live with them.  I have sonar sounding things for mice, I wonder if it would deter rats.  I live next to a stream that is so overgrown as it seems the Council have forgotten us - despite letters from various residents.  It must be teeming with all sorts of wildlife - so what to do?  As long as they don't come into the house.  .....

The patio and the porch are  the boundaries. Ants and rodents that encroach are dealt with severely.

@B3  Their "highway A1" is along the wall.  Scurry scurry and scamper!

I might add that to the boundary of I noticed them on the fence.. So long as I can't see them I pretend they're not there.

But you ARE picking and choosing, you're choosing to feed the birds, but not the rats.
Your garden, your problem, your choice.

Rats are pests that spread disease. If your neighbours are leaving food about, emptying your feeders isn't going to make much difference we are fortunate in our neighbours so I haven't seen a rat for a few weeks. I put some blue bags down for them ( the rats not the neighbours) . The bags went overnight. If I see them near the house again, they can have some more.
