Identifying a climber please

D CD C Posts: 27
Good evening,

I was wondering if anybody has any idea what the plant below might be please?

Two of three years ago I planted I would estimate 15 different kinds of climbers next to my trellis under a row of massive conifer trees, in the hope one of them would do well despite competition from the trees.

Nothing happened for a while, but recently this thing has shot up (straight up; it only goes sideways when you force it sideways). Obviously I now can't remember everything I planted, or where.

Does anybody happen to know what this might be please?

Thanks in advance.

That looks like a Lonicera (honeysuckle) of some sort.

Did you happen to keep any of the labels?

    Fantastic! Thank you so much.

I wish I were organised enough to keep the labels. However, a quick search of my e-mails shows that I bought 3 different Lonicera (in 2018!): Henryi, Henryi Copper Beauty and Japonica Halliana, and there are currently 3 plants shooting up along my trellis. Though I must confess they all look the same to me, that must be them...

Thank you very much indeed for your help.

I have Haliana, I'll post a pic tomorrow, it's in flower at the moment. You can then compare. The flowers are lemon/white.

Clematis does not come up in any of my online orders. It's not impossible I picked some up elsewhere though (I did try everything).

My plants are not currently flowering, but that may well be because they are too busy shooting up.

I don’t think it’s clematis @bertrand-mabel … clematis doesn’t twine around and around does it?  It scrambles.

I think the one you show could be Lonicera Henri copper beauty. The new stems twine and the tips are a coppery colour, see mine below. The flowers are small and less showy than most honeysuckle.

Think it's maybe a evergreen variety.
