I would appreciate any advice please

@sue.relph, it would help if you could post a photo of your tree please, just click on the oblong icon above which looks like a hill, crop the photo slightly then upload it to this post.
Unfortunately if your cherry tree is dying, there is not much you can do.

Thanks for the pic @sue.relph, but I'm afraid I think your tree is a goner.

I'd be more than happy if another poster thinks otherwise. I wonder if honey fungus may be a possible cause? it doesn't look like silver leaf disease as far as I can tell.

    I'm sorry.

  • Thanks for taking the time to have a look
I'm going to keep feeding it and hope the spring brings some miracle

The usual advice is not to feed ailing plants ... it's like giving an ill patient a four course Christmas dinner ... they cannot take in and digest/process the high level of nutrition and it can make things worse rather than better by causing an imbalance
    .
Water water water by all means but don't feed is my best advice.

As @Dovefromabove says, best not to feed ailing plants, although I think yours is beyond saving.

  • It's not completely dead there is still some green branches so it's worth trying with the water until the winter
