Hi - my wildflower meadow is in its 5th year and had been getting better each year. However this year it has been completely dominated by something that has spread throughout the meadow and is stifling everything else out.  I do not know what it is or how to get rid of it other than digging over the whole meadow after I cut it late summer and starting all over again. It pulls out really easily and is slightly sticky to the touch.  Has anyone else come across this and can offer any advice about what to do?
I was going to say one of the vetches and it  looks like it's been identified, definitely not BFT or cleavers.  There are loads of wild vetches and many occur in meadows.  I wouldn't worry about it.  Most are annuals and as legumes will fix nitrogen. Just see them as part of the meadow you are creating. Pollinating insects like them.
Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.
