ID purple flower please

Hi, I'm currently on holiday in the Swiss and Italian Alps and noticed this purple flower in many gardens. Does anyone know what plant this is? It looks like an aster or daisy, but the leaves look completely different. Almost sedum like.

Already asked the landlady we're renting the chalet from, but she couldn't tell either.

Anyone knows what plant this is?

It looks like a type of Mesembryanthemum to me, but not sure.

It's not, but your hint pointed me in the right direction. So thanks!!

It turns out to be a Delosperma Cooperi.

Oh, I'm too late. I have one in SW France, quite a lot around here.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
