Help with my black lace

Guys I’ve tried to save her been giving her 10 gallons of water every other day yet still looks dead and tired I’m going to cut her back today my only question is as you see from the photo I’ve marked a yellow line across is that to much to cut down to or shall I go deeper down

    Don't do anything.
As before, it's the heatwave that fried the leaves.
The stems are probably still fine and will leaf out again - give it a chance.
Start at the top of the shrub and try and snap a bit off. If it snaps - it's dead. If it bends it's not.
Carry on down until you find live wood.
I'd say 4 gallons (2 bucketfuls) every 2-3 days would be plenty.

If you want to prune it down to the ground best time is Spring

Agree, don't be in such a hurry. Your shrub needs to recover and rest, just like you would if you had been through trauma. I wouldn't cut anything off until Spring.

When you are applying water, and it sounds as though you are applying a lot, make sure it penetrates the soil. There is a tendency for water to 'run off'. It will take a while for those quantities to soak in.
