It looks affected by weedkiller, as well as the chew holes. One of our neighbours heavily dosed one side of their fence with weedkiller, and the leaves on our side started producing odd shapes.
I honestly don't know - what kind of plumbago do you mean? I have Ceratostigma which is also known as Chinese plumbago, but it's definitely not that. This is quite sappy and soft.
P. auriculata does look like a possibility - thanks for that! I'll pass that on. I too had wondered about Passiflora but it wasn't quite right. She's lived there for 20+ years and doesn't use weedkiller (and the location of this would make any drift from a neighbour extremely unlikely).
