Another plant ID

I have a gardenia in a large pot and initially thought the lighter, green leaves growing to the right of the pic might be an off shoot within the pot.  I'm now unsure whether it is indeed part of the gardenia or a different plant altogether?  Any ideas?

Looks like Salix caprea … Goat willow … famous for its floating seeds like thistledown that land in pots and grow, fooling gardeners into thinking it’s a precious plant, rather than a tree that’s going to be waaaaay too big for  most gardens.

Great for wildlife if you have several acres … but not for most gardens. 😊
