New Turf - ‘Potato Weed’?!

I’m hoping someone can help me.

We recently had new turf installed in our house, not ideal considering the heat and hot weather we’ve had , However I’m glad to report it’s survived… With the exception of some weeds have been growing, which on closer expect inspection look to be like new potatoes?!

Please see enclosed pictures.

Any advice of what this is and how best to treat it would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

I think you’re right … probably in some compost that was used to prepare the area … but I wouldn’t worry about it … snip them off at the base with secateurs if the turf is ready for you to walk on … but if it isn’t ready it’s not a problem … mowing the grass will remove the top growth and although they may reappear a few times mowing will finish them off. They’re not going to be a long term weed in your lawn 😊
