    Yes, annual opium poppies, Papaver somniferum. They come in quite a few colours, and doubles too, if you like them and want to try more from seed.
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

    I had been experimenting with weeds and this one is undoubtedly one of the prettier “weeds”. No wonder!
