Can anyone identify these

Took the dogs out yesterday evening when it was a bit cooler,park in next village
 This was in the wood,about 1.mtr tall,big flat mid green leaves
Very spikey flowers, mauve center,very pretty.

    Hello Ladybird that was quick,is that what that revolting dandelion and burdock drink is made from?

    It is indeed Nanny Beach - and I agree with you.
    I am willing to bet that there are now chemical equivalents of both those plants in modern day Dandelion and Burdock drinks.

    Keep your dog away from the ripe seed heads. They are an absolute pig to get off their coats.

    Luckily the plants are much taller than my long hair dogs. My little toy,has no undercoat or oil,and everyone he comes in from the garden,he brings in,leaves, blossom. When we walk along to the harbour,there are some tiny burrs that stick in his hair,and we end up cutting them out.

    Be pleased it was in the wood not your garden...huge great roots which are virtually impossible to dig out.

    It was on the edge of the wooded area,it's an absolutely massive park

    One of my favourite wild plants … as children we’d use the huge leaves as parasols. The burrs are a PITA in a spaniel’s coat tho 🙄 
    and although the main flowering spikes are higher up than most spaniels there are always burrs on the sideshoots too! And as winter arrives the plants become brittle  droop and fall … that’s when the burrs attach themselves to dogs and children's winter coats etc 😂 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
