Help with identifying this weed in my lawn and how to eradicate it?

Can someone help me to identify this new weed which has popped up and now flowering in our front garden?  Didn't see it last year?  Any tips on how best to get rid of it?

How to get rid of it is to mow your lawn.  Not much survives that.
Looks like some sort of Achillea.

Yarrow is the common name. Mow the lawn or keep it if your lawn is a wild flower meadow.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Yarrow is pretty resilient to most lawn weedkillers

Just mowing the lawn won't get rid of yarrow and most lawn weeds, selective lawn weed killer is needed on yarrow it can take a couple of applications as well. Or dig it out if you only have a little bit.
