Pigeons

Need to keep pigeons 100 feet away from other birds and feeding. Is that possible in just a natural habitat without caging or fencing, please?

No … it’s totally impossible to do that.

Not only do you need caging that will contain the pigeons … you also need a double mesh caging that will ensure that small birds can’t access the pigeons’ cage or perch on top and defecate through the mesh.

We have a multi-feeder 'tree' in which we have fat balls, nijer seed and peanuts.  Each morning early, I feed anything up to 25 feral pigeons (away from the 'tree') with a smallish amount of mixed seed which, once finished, sees all bar four of the pigeons disappear for the rest of the day.  These four then hang around all day pecking about under the other feeders for bits the small birds knock off.  Now, if you've got a deterrent for rooks, I'd love to hear it!

Ah … I may have misunderstood … I was thinking the question was about domestic pigeons and keeping them separate from wild birds to protect from Avian flu?

Can we have clarification please @redwoodpost49yXiUGOEI ?

I assumed the OP was talking about racing pigeons and want to keep wild birds away.
