Echium pininana - offshoot !

gnoshgnosh Posts: 22
Hi , I only noticed yesterday that my echium has a second branch and rosette of leaves growing out of the side of it .
I haven’t seen this with any of my others .
One plant , one rosette , one flower spike usually .
These are not flowering this year so it will be next year , I’m wondering that if the main rosette flowers then obviously the other one won’t as it’s young so should I leave it in situ after flowering or will they both die off  ? Sorry , see previous posts , I’m a novice with echium so

Just leave it,  if they survive the winter they’ll probably both flower next year.
