Afternoon,

My Phlomis tuberosa Amazone has got a peculiar issue with one of its leaves, is this something to worry about that will spread to others?

The underside is the same and I can’t see any critters that may have caused it.

 Thanks.

It is low down on your plant so I would just cut it off. I agree I don't think it has been eaten. Clean your secateurs afterwards.

  • Ok, will do. Any idea what it is though?

Not really sure, some things can only be identified under a microscope. At this point I would not be concerned unless it gets worse.I do appreciate this is a very choice plant.

I've noticed that after they flower the whole plant starts to go yellow (and, eventually, dried and brown). It's not one of those plants that has perfect green leaves the whole summer long. You can it cut to the base to stimulate fresh leaves, but that loses you the impressive seed heads which provide winter interest.
