Off Topic - Taking Alendronate Acid

I've been taking this for 15 years, with a 3 year break in the middle. Diagnosed with osteoporosis after a bad fall and fracturing my spine. Only time I've ever broken a bone despite a rather spectacular fall on a pavement last year.
I stopped taking it 3 weeks ago (despite my GP's advice) and intend to have a year's 'holiday'.
Within those 3 weeks (almost immediately in fact) I have noticed a significant improvement in digestion issues and no acid reflux problems. I feel so much better, I'm overjoyed.
Has anyone else noticed this - any information would be very welcome.

Is that the same thing as Fosamax? My mum took that for a while but stopped it because it gave her terrible indigestion and reflux.

There’d have to be an incredibly good reason for me to take something with those ‘common’ side effects 😯

Good heavens @Punkdoc, thanks for that, they are not all listed in my Patient Leaflet. I knew some of them have very bad side effects (although supposedly rare) but my GP didn't discuss possible stomach problems when first prescribed.
@Dovefromabove, I've hated taking these for years but GP insisted. I'm not even sure I had the right diagnosis in the first place.

Yes @JennyJ, that's the same thing.
