Small white slugs

Hi, just wanted to ask. We have moved into a new build home and the lawn when watered in full of small white slugs. I tried Nemaslug but so far has little effect. Is there anything i could try.  Thanks

You could try leaving them alone. Gardens have a whole host of slugs and snails, and the majority of them are beneficial. It's only a very few species that actually do any harm and even then that's normally for crops not lawns. Step one is to get a positive ID of what they actually are and then you can decide if killing them is necessary.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

@johnsuzollie9zNvOCvQ I agree birds are desprate for food and water at present. Do you have any plants in the garden yet? It is all about achieving a balance so the insects and wildlife can visit.
Sadly we have less birds and other wildlife due to the chemicals used in our gardens
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
  • Hello, we dont have much plants yet and there are trees about 200 yards away. Not many birds around.
Will i try and encourage birds near the lawn to feed on small snails.
