Weeds v plants
I haven't been able to keep on top of the garden since March due to work but I've pretty much finished the job now. Looking around the garden this morning, the recent growing conditions seem to have suited the uninvited guests more than those I'd like to grow
Furthermore, why is it that the Cyrils and Brians prefer to munch on anything that cost money rather than the free weeds?!
As an example, I believe this is a persicaria (redshank?) that has made itself comfortable and spread over a small area that was sown with cornflower, cosmos, zinnia, gypsophila and nigella. Not much evidence of a couple of those!

Presumably, I'm slowly realising what all gardeners have known since time began?

Yesterday I was in the garden most of the day found just one snail. It's a worry these creatures are food for birds. We also have a baby owl in the wood nearby how do birds cope with this weather?
