Apple tree white fungus desease

One of my apple tree has a white mould on the branches which seems to be killing the tree. What can I do to get rid of it and save the tree.  I’ve tried jetting it off with water but it’s too well established now for this to be effective and it just comes back

Yes here are two photos of the fluffy white fungus killing my apple tree.   Any suggestions?

    Wooly Aphids
One of my apples has lots of it too.
It's doesn't seem to do any significant damage to mine, and I'll be summer pruning it soon so will try and cut off as much as I can when pruning.
The same tree seems to get it every year.

I would continue to wash off as much of it as you can with a jet from the hosepipe  and encourage small birds, especially the tit family, into your garden ... bluetits and especially long-tailed tits love them ... we used to get troops of them all over our crab-apple in the winter, feeding on the woolly apids.   :)

Thanks I’ll try jetting off and some pruning and report back.  That’s helpful and encouraging…

Water jet and scrubbing brush. You are unlikely to eradicate it completely but birds will help to keep it controlled.

Amazing. Just yesterday evening a group of long tailed tits arrived for a feast.  Lovely!   But I’ll be jetting and pruning too as there is so much of it.  Thanks everyone.

Hang a bird feeder in the tree to help attract birds.

Long tailed tits love blocks of pastry.
