Fern tree not growing so well

Hello fellow exotics,

I have a fern tree which I have looked after for about 3 years now. It has been healthy
until this year. The leaves haven’t grown much and are still a very light green. Am I under/over watering the fern or does he need some shade or nutrients?
Any advice most welcome.

Thank you,

Pam.

Your tree needs to be in the ground, ideally, or a bigger pot.  They prefer shade and need watering daily at this time of year.  Make sure that you water the trunk and crown as well as the soil which should be kept moist but not waterlogged.  I give my fern a weekly feed of diluted seaweed extract which seems to keep it healthy.  Hope this helps.
    Wirral. Sandy, free draining soil.
