Caterpillar?

This morning I found a small, bright green caterpillar (?) on the leaf of one of my annual geraniums. The leaf was curled around it and the outer edges of the leaf had been munched along with some other leaves. I’m just wondering if any one knows what it might be. It’s about 1cm long, bright green in colour.

    Could be / probably is Light Brown Apple Moth caterpillar, I have quite a few in the garden at the moment.

    I suppose could be, thinking about it, as I’ve seen similar grubs/caterpillars inside apple leaves. Can’t remember if they were such a bright green, though. Thanks for replying, Sheps.

    Maybe Tortrix Moth...but not sure if LBAM are the same family.

    They are. Tortrix moths are the usual leaf rolling culprits but my field guide to UK micro-moths has 18 pages of Tortricidae moths at 21 species per page. There's a lot of them :o

    Yes, that’s a lot of moths. I’ll have to be vigilant, and keep a close eye on my geraniums.

    Yes, but I forgot when I saw the caterpillar yesterday morning. Only thought about asking about it later.

    Don't worry about it. You can tell as much from your description as you can from a photo. Small green caterpillars are basically impossible to identify but adding the food plant and the caterpillar's habits really helps narrow it down.
