Unhappy paper rose

Hi plant,
my paper rose is not happy, it had aphids of some kind last year (can’t remember exact problem) it’s had roses this year but hardly any leaves, should I prune it now? Or plant it in the ground maybe instead?

    Needs a deeper pot I’d say and a good water .Others Will know more than me

    Thanks, the picture does make the pot look shallow it’s not that bad I promise

    When planting roses in pots the pot needs to be a minimum of 40cm wide by 40cm deep.  They also like to be kept moist and fed with a good quality rose feed.  You also need to make sure it’s planted in the right planting medium.  Use John Innes No 3 or you can get compost for roses.
