Plant Identification

Please can anyone identify these plants. Apologies for the incorrect number order - I never seem to be able to manage the order that photos upload 🤷🏼‍♀️.
1. Has just 'appeared' from nowhere.
2, 3 and 4 were in a mix of wildflower seeds.
Directly beneath 2. is another that I think looks like foxglove, but am probably wrong?
Photo 4 is not very focused because the hive is nearby and the bees didn't appreciate my presence!

    I think:
    1 is Digitalis lutea - a foxglove
2 don't know... do the white flowers belong to it?  The hairy leaf and flower bud below it is borage
    3 Bird's foot trefoil
4 Pale blue flower?  Phacelia tanacetifolia
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

@ShepherdsBarn Photo 2 does the plant you think maybe another foxglove have a smell? Not sure it is a foxglove

No 2.  Isn’t a foxglove but the little one is a Borage.  I don’t know the white flower.
No 1.  Is the Lutea.  I grow them from seed every year.
    No 4.  Is a Phacelia.

Number 2 could be Buckwheat, Fagopyrum Esculentum.
  • @AnniD  ... yes, my first thought was penstemon, too. 🙂
    @Liriodendron - yes the white flowers do belong ... it's a mystery.
No @GardenerSuze ... it is borage, as others have pointed out - I should have known that because I grew some last year. 🙄 Thank you. 🙂
Thanks @bcpathome - yellow birds foot trefoil ... I'll have to write that one down, I'll never remember it! 🙂
Thanks @Lyn. Ah ... yes, of course - borage; that's the one I thought might be foxglove.
    4. Phacelia 😅 I have just bought a packet of Phacelia seeds too.
So 1. is a straw foxglove ... hopefully I will get more next year. The bed it was in has been disturbed, so it has probably been dormant for some time.

No doubt I will be along with some more IDs soon. I have a 3' tray which I have just planted (probably too late) There are lots of seedlings coming through - time will tell what they are. I think the strange butterfly-shaped seedling might be morning glory.

I think @Borderline could be right about no.2 being Buckwheat.   :)

  • Thanks @Borderline - yes, I think you're right! 😃 Thank you.
Sorry I didn't respond earlier, but it took me so long to type my last reply, I posted it and didn't see yours! 🤦🏼‍♀️
The leaves have a look of bindweed about them, I think - but definitely Buckwheat, I would say. 🙂
