Mushrooms in my compost

Found mushrooms in my compost. The look long and thin with a little cap on...will they be ok...the compost is diffrent to what I usually buy as it seems more like bark

    @carlasrichardson It won't be a problem at all. Compost varies alot in quality lots of forum members have posted to say how disappointed they are with compost this year.
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

    The mushrooms are just the fruiting bodies of the fungi that are breaking down the organic matter in the compost into a form that’s accessible to the roots of your plants. 

    Without the fungi doing their job we wouldn’t have any usable compost at all. 

    They’re nothing to worry about. 😊

    @carlasrichardson Thank you for your post, it is something I wondered about in the past.
    You can also find white threads in soil often from compost that hasn't broken down. That's ok too.
