Honeysuckle, but I don't know which one. Maybe Lonicera fragrantissima or a variety of it.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

@Eustace how lovely to have flowers on this evergreen in February! How would you describe the scent please, if that is possible. I need a late winter/early spring-flowering honeysuckle/Lonicera.

It looks just like my Lonicera fragrantissima, which will grow to be a 6ft shrub with very fragrant flowers now but a bit dull in summer. I grew a clematis up mine.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

That sounds like a good combination. My climbers are currently more late spring-flowering so this honeysuckle would fill a gap.

Ours started flowering in November (Oct 10th in 2020!) and is still going strong. Gorgeous scent but not the most attractive of plants during the rest of the year. Not really a climber so a bit different from the usual honeysuckles.
    Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border

I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful

@clematisdorset I don't know how to describe the scent other than to say that it is pleasant; it fills that corner of my garden, especially in the mornings. The flowers are small and white, not very prominent though. I have a clematis planted next to it and uses these upright stems to climb up. The clematis hasn't yet woken up from its slumber.

Edited to add that I planted this honeysuckle next to a trellis thinking that it needs the support; actually I could have planted it elsewhere.

And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

@Eustace it sounds very pleasing. I was thinking it could be just right for a south-west facing corner. It sounds as though it needs a summer-flowering climber/plant nearby for best effect.
