Pearlbush yellowing

I have a pearlbush the bride, when I planted it, it was green and healthy, but the leaves have gradually yellowed. The soil is heavy clay, but the whole bed has been amended with lots of compost, mulch and composted manure.

I'm wondering if perhaps the soil is too rich now. Was the manure well rotted ?

It is possible that the soil is too rich, as I dug out all the solid clay and replaced it with well rotted manure mixed with compost. There is also a French drain in front of this bed, so drainage shouldn't be an issue with it.

If too rich is the problem, should I just wait in the hope that the soil decomposes further?

The leaves have turned yellow because your plant can't access nitrogen.
There are several reasons that could cause this.
As @AnniDsays above, it could be the soil it's in is too strong
If it's not that, it's either too much or too little water
