About 8ft tall in a sunny position on clay soil.

    Possibly Eupatorium of some sort ?

    Thank you. I’ve never heard of that. Is it a shrub that flowers?

    There are various types, it could be this one, but l am not 100% sure.

    Not sure as the leaves are quite round. It’s also mushing up through the lawn in places. New garden and unusual plants emerging regularly!

    Is it a shrub with permanent woody branches or a perennial that dies back completely and regrows from ground level every year? If it's a shrub, maybe Leycesteria formosa?
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

    Leycesteria formosa? Definitely not as I’ve got one already and very different. Woody stem deciduous. 
    Thank you nutcutlet, I’m pretty sure you’ve cracked it! It’s also in a coastal garden which says they like. 1/2 mile from the coast. Many thanks to all watch this space for more interesting finds 😁👍

    Clerodendrum bungei.....it can get a bit invasive.
