Don't worry about the confusion, it happens very often where geraniums are concerned  :)

I haven't had a dog for many years, but she never took any interest in eating plants. I know it can be a worry for some owners though.
I think she hoped to grow a tennis ball tree though, she was forever burying them.

Repeat planting will give you a good "flow" as @punkdoc says. Depending on which perennial plants you buy (if any), if they're big enough you may even be able to divide them, thereby saving money.

I would ignore the dog's trust list, it's really unhelpful and gives a misleading impression of the potential harms of these plants. Most dogs won't eat the plants on the list, certainly in the quantities required to cause symptoms.

It's probably fair enough to think carefully about species they have noted in bold text as 'potentially fatal'. Even so, most of them are profoundly unpalatable to dogs.
I wouldn't be so sure, one of my horses used to grab hemlock on her way past it, I had to physically open her mouth and pull it out a couple of times! So while I agree with what you say, there's always that one exception.

Yes but horses eat greenery anyway don’t they. I have owned dogs all my life( I’m 70) spaniels ,westies ,labs ,mongrels ……I’ve had them all and none of them ever ate plants ,……….maybe the odd few blades of grass but never even interested in flower beds .
