Moving bulb plants

Hi
Unfortunately I have to move some of my plants because I need to build a new border and put the plants in the new border at a later date. Can anyone help me? How can I store the plants which have bulbs just for a couple of weeks. The plants are ''crocosmia Lucifer''.

    @der_20G0WhYLyC  I think moving C Lucifer is risky as it is about to flower. The plus is it is a very tough plant. You will loose the flowers for this year and I think as it is going to really knock it back if you do. The leaves will almost certainly turn brown too. If there is any way round it I would let them flower and move in the autumn. Welcome!

    Crocosmia is a really tough plant and can be moved at any time, though if just before it flowers you will lose these, as Sue says. Leave the foliage on and let it die back, as if it is Autumn. This is important as it will help the bulbs flower next year, then when it is brown you can cut it off and plant out the bulbs in their new home. Good luck.

    I would try moving the crocosmia as a clump, with as big a rootball as you can manage, and put it into a large pot or plant it temporarily in a different spot, watering it well.  It might then not suffer too much - though I think you'll still lose this year's flowers.
