Plant bulbs

We brought some cheap bulbs at local garden centre, they say plant until May, there things like lucifer crosmosia, gladiolus. Should I try anyway, or wait til next year. Thanks

Yes put them in,  by next year they will be no good. Even if they don’t flower this year, they will build up goodness in the bulbs and flower next.

When you dig the hole for the gladioli,  put in a few inches of sand and bed them in that,  saves the slugs eating them.

Do you mean as a dressing or mix in with the soil. Thanks in advance. Yes will get them planted at the weekend I think

Just dig a hole, usually you would dig a circular shape for the gladioli and place them a few inches apart in a circle,  (they look good like that). Then place sand to cover the hole to about 3inches,  press the bulbs into it then cover with the soil you dug out.

The crocosmia you can just plant in the sòil, they’re as tough as old boots.🙂
